New year, new view. Trailer for coming attractions on the Arrow Player channel January 2022. We have been making these across a few years now and are constantly surprised by the depth and breadth of titles on offer.
Created for our friends at Icon Film Distribution, we were asked to create this trailer for online promotion of the new Icon Film Channel available on a host of apps and platforms.
Packed into 30 seconds is a brief to show not only the breadth and depth of films on offer, but also to narrate the personality of the channel in a busy marketplace.
Along with full original trailers, we offer our gaming clients a re-brand service. Taking trailers (often direct from developers) and re-editing and re-branding for use on OTT sales platforms (Such as platform stores) where format, branding and content has strict guidelines that will not be in the workflow of trailer production.
Successful co-op branding with a platform means a game is shown in the best way to the most amount of people – which is invaluable for indie releases.

GVFilm was recently commissioned by Over The Fence Films to create a trailer for the poignant documentary ‘Fadia’s Tree’. Fadia, a Palestinian refugee in Lebanon, is stranded by history on the wrong side of the border. When a chance meeting introduces her to the director, Sarah, she makes a grand and personal request: to find the ancient mulberry tree next to her grandfather’s house in Sa’sa, northern Palestine. A mere 2 hour drive from Beirut where she lives, Fadia is barred from crossing that border. With only received memories, a blind man and a two-headed dragon as her guides, Sarah embarks on the quest to find the tree. Along the way, as she observes the homing instincts of millions of migrating birds, nature inadvertently reveals instinctive elements of the Palestinian yearn to return home. Through a birds’ eye perspective, we reflect on freedom of movement, exile and return and a sense of hope projected by the land itself. Fadia’s Tree is a remarkably warm debut feature film by artist, Sarah Beddington, and a heartfelt rumination on the nature of belonging.
Fadia’s Tree is showing Saturday November 27 at the Curzon Soho, Shaftesbury Avenue as part of the London Palestine Film Festival.
At GVFilm we have a long history of creating trailers and sizzle reels for film markets such as Cannes and AFM. In many cases films may still be in production, and we are tasked with creating effective content with limited footage, time and budget.
Often these trailers will go on to become the Official trailer when we complete with scheduled deliverables and versions for Theatrical / TV / OTT Platforms.
For Spitfire Over Berlin we worked closely with Kaleidoscope Film Distribution and Tin Hat Films to edit this exciting introduction to the soon to be released WW2 adventure.
MUSE OF FIRE is an 83-minute feature documentary produced by actors Giles Terera (Hamilton) and Dan Poole (Dungeons & Dragons), (Peterloo) in 2013. At GVFilm we helped sculpt the narrative via sizzle reels and sales trailers, before assisting in the edit of the film and a special BBC version – as well as also providing Trailers and promotional material. To this day it is still racking up new international sales across a huge variety of formats.
It is a testament to creating materials that will sell a film and can be delivered to global platforms.
Demand for digital content is at an all time high, and the pandemic has seen distributors and service providers scramble to update platforms with catalogue titles. But often the trailers provided (even from just a few years ago) may not be suitable for use, either because of technical specifications or content. At GVFilm we have years of experience in quickly and economically re-editing and re-branding trailers to platform specifications ready for delivery.
Sometimes trailers just may not be suitable at all, and we pride ourselves on scripting, editing and producing original trailers for re-releases.
