Discover how groundbreaking artist Liza Bec leveraged the power of Dolby Atmos to fully realise their apocalyptic coming-of-age tale, The End Times — a uniquely creative album recorded live at Real World Studios. During their year-long residency with Paraorchestra, Liza used the three-dimensional audio capabilities of Dolby Atmos to create multitextured sound worlds that are by turns rich, evocative, dry, and severe. Liza’s custom-built roborecorder and cube array technology transformed unconventional sounds — including electronic manipulation of chalk on blackboard —into a theatrical soundscape that challenges perceptions of what music can be. Dolby Atmos provided the spatial canvas to weave together spoken word, Hammond organ, haunting vocals, and jazz polyrhythms, creating an immersive experience that transports listeners into a deeply imaginative soundscape.
For the latest of Dolby UK’s Love music series we filmed interviews with a variety of Ivors Academy members that are pushing Dolby Atmos to its creative limits.
